In this latest article from Home DIY Tips i would like to address the importance of ‘post DIY’ cleaning, and how this can be achieved with the use of a carpet cleaner and various other simple cleaning methods.
Often when i embark on a DIY job, i like to ensure all areas of my ‘workstation’ are covered with dust cloths, protective sheet or a similar covering. Most of the problems come from my painting and decorating exploits, where you will get the odd spot of paint on the cream carpets or inevitably spill that precariously balanced tin of wood varnish all over the spotless wooden floor - believe me it does happen! The best thing in this situation is preparation. Make sure if you are painting in a room with furniture and other important items, that you either carefully remove all these items or adequately protect them from damage. Same goes for the carpet; make sure you have put over dust sheets to keep it clean and even create a seal around the flooring board edge with some sticky tape to prevent any exposure to DIY mess.

Carpet cleaners can be good for the DIY tidy up
Prevention is better than cure, but if you do manage to damage a carpet whilst working for example you can always use a number of carpet cleaning liquids and sprays, or rent yourself a decent carpet cleaner. For the more ingrained stains a steam carpet cleaner may be necessary, but always do your homework before hand as they may only suit a certain style of carpet. I would probably recommend doing a carpet spring clean every 12 months or so anyway, just to reverse some of the effects of general wear and tear.
I would also suggest that if possible, you varnish and stain furniture outside to prevent any damage to the interior of the home. This is simply down to the nature of some waxes, polishes and stains which are incredibly tough to remove from carpets, floorboards and other unwanted areas. If you are doing alot of woodwork which generates dust, i often find a dust pan and brush or conventional vacuum cleaner will do the trick.
Thanks for stopping by everyone, i will hope to see you all soon.

Very great and informative information. Most especially to those people who don’t have any idea on how to do carpet cleaning.
